Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)

Pahel works on different activities for WASH including Urban and Rural WASH in line with the SDG-6 and PATS approach, where we build infrastructure and capacity of communities, stakeholders and related departments on improved WASH facilities and practices. Some of the main activities are: Awareness raising on Hygiene Promotion through public health promotions sessions, seminars and conferences on Hygiene, Construction of WASH infrastructures like Water Filtration Plants, Hand-pumps, Toilets, Washing spaces, Water storage ponds, handwashing devices and improvement of government schools and health facilities with upgraded WASH facilities, Hygiene Promotion Sessions and SLTS with school children, CLTS sessions with communities, Capacity building on Menstrual Hygiene and Sanitary Pads making, Distribution of Hygiene and Dignity Kits during Emergencies, Dewatering of Contaminated water from villages, Chlorination and treatment of existing water filtration ponds, Water testing and treatment with support of PCRWR and local labs and Celebration of international Days like World Toilet Day, Water Day and Handwashing day. Besides that, Pahel also works on the policy influencing with the government and policy makers to include the WASH in government development plans.
